Examinations at Bethan Jones Theatre Arts
We believe taking graded exams is an important part of a student’s training because it gives clear goals to work towards and helps track real progress over time.
Graded exams build discipline, focus, and confidence, encouraging students to refine their technique and develop strong foundations in their discipline. They also provide valuable performance experience in a structured setting, helping students manage nerves and perform under pressure.
Most importantly, the exam boards we use are recognised by colleges and universities which means the qualifications students achieve can support further training and future applications in performing arts.
We offer Singing examinations with the London College of Music in both Musical Theatre and Pop, allowing students to develop their skills and work their way through the graded system at their own pace.
Students can begin taking exams from the age of 5, building confidence, technique, and performance ability from an early stage. We are proud of our consistently high Distinction pass rate, with all students in our Spring and Winter exam sessions achieving Distinctions.
We prepare for these exams during One to One singing lessons. Please speak to your tutor if you are interested in taking graded exams.
We offer Acting exams with LAMDA, where students perform one or two monologues in front of an examiner. These are carefully prepared through additional coaching sessions.
Students receive 8 one-to-one lessons to work on their pieces, along with a group class to rehearse and share their work with peers. LAMDA exams are excellent for building confidence, performance skills, and stage presence.
We are incredibly proud of our students, who have achieved extremely high marks in our recent exam sessions.
